A man aged 60 died at the airdrome in Horești village of Ialoveni district as a result of an accident that involved two small planes on September 13, IPN reports.
Press officer of the National Investigations Inspectorate Diana Sochircă said the man worked as a technical engineer and the accident happened when he was repairing a plane parked on the airfield.
When this started the engine, a technical glitch appeared and the plane set off without being controlled by the engineer. This hit another plane and, as a result of the impact, the man suffered head injuries and died on the spot.
