Semion Altman could hold on only for four matches on the technical bench of the national team of Moldova. He was replaced by the Turk Engin Firat, whose last job as sports director was two years ago, overseas in Dallas City, IPN reports.
"This is not the first time I come to Moldova. My family was also on vacation here. I watched many matches with the participation of the national team of Moldova. I want to talk to all the players and find out why some of them refused to join the batch. If they tell me that they will come only if they are allowed to play, I will not summon them,” said Moldova’s coach Engin Firat.
In his career, Firat served for six years as head coach for six teams: LR Ahlen, Incheon United, Kayseri, Sepahan, Gostaresh and Saipa, and for 11 years as assistant to 9 other teams, including Fenerbahce and the national team of Iran.
Engin Firat has signed a contract valid until the end of the Euro 2020 qualifying tournament. His debut is scheduled for November 14, on the ground of the current world champion, the team of France.
"In the match with France we have to show real character. Those who will manage this will play in the home game with Iceland. In the match with Iceland we need a positive result because we owe it to our supporters”, said the 49-year-old Turkish coach.
