For the first time, SA “Energocom” bought 24 MWh of natural gas for the next day, by 1 MWh an hour, from the Romanian Commodities Exchange. The price per MWh was 240 Romanian lei, which is equal to €48.82, IPN reports.
The company said the purchase was made to test a new mechanism for buying natural gas and for establishing a new logistics chain. The gas will be resold to SA “Moldovagaz”. The price does not include the shipping costs.
Acceding to the acting director of SA “Energocom” Victor Bânzari, the goal is to diversify the natural gas supply sources while looking for accessible sources and to ensure the country’s energy security.
