Ukrainian and US official delegations will meet in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, March 11, for talks on ending the war with Russia, Reuters.com reports.

Talks between US and Ukrainian officials scheduled for Tuesday - the first official meeting since Zelenski's tense Oval Office meeting with Trump - will focus on a bilateral agreement on minerals and ways to end the war.

Volodimir Zelensky has said he will not take part in the talks with US officials, with the Ukrainian delegation to include the head of his office, Andrii Yermak, his defense and foreign ministers, and a senior military official from the presidential administration.

"From our side, we are fully engaged in a constructive dialog, we hope to discuss and agree on the necessary decisions and steps.", "Realistic proposals are on the table. The key is to act quickly and effectively," Volodimir Zelenski wrote on the X network.

US officials have said they plan to use the meeting with the Ukrainians to get Kiev to make material concessions to Russia to end the war.

"You can't say 'I want peace' and 'I refuse to compromise,'" one US official said. "We want to see if the Ukrainians are interested not just in peace, but in a realistic peace," another US official was quoted by Reuters as saying, without naming the two officials.

US President Donald Trump said he expects good results from the planned talks, adding that the United States had "almost" ended the suspension of information exchanges with Kiev.

Russian Federation controls about one-fifth of Ukraine's territory, including Crimea, annexed in 2014, and its troops are also advancing into the eastern Donetsk region, stepping up drone and rocket attacks on towns and cities far from the frontline.
