Employees to pay 6% social contributions in 2009, too

The draft social insurances budget for 2009, approved on October 1 by the Government, provides for 7.51 billion lei in incomes, up 1.25 billion lei (20.1%) compared to the 2008 budget, and expenditures of 7.57 billion lei, up 20.6% compared to 2008. The deficit of 569 million lei is to be covered by extra-incomes recorded the previous years, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Social Insurances National Corporation chief, Maria Borta, the main incomes into this budget will be the contributions per se – 6.42 billion lei, up 1.14 billion (21.7%) compared with 2008.
The social insurance contribution will be 29%, as in 2008. The employers will pay 23%, and the employees -- 6%. The farmers will pay 22%, 6% of which will be subventioned from the state budget.
The founders of private enterprises, lawyers and notaries will pay 3,708 lei, as well as patent merchants. The employees in the civil aviation who retire at 45 years will pay 33% of their salaries.
Maria Borta said the indemnity to child birth will be up 200 lei in 2009. The indemnity for the first birth will be 1,400 lei, and for the subsequent births -- 1,700 lei.
The monthly indemnities to child nursing till 3 years will be up 5%, and 25% of the salary, but not less than 250 lei.
The pensions, social insurances and disability indemnities will be 20%. The death subvention will rise from 800 to 900 lei.
The social insurance budget also contains 205.38 million lei to implement the Law on social assistance. The money will be allocated to families with the monthly income per member less than 430 lei.
