Employees of National Investigation Inspectorate face charges

Two employees of the National Investigation Inspectorate were arrested on suspicion of passive corruption. They were denounced through the national anticorruption line by a man who said that the two asked money from him for dropping charges against him, IPN reports.

According to the National Anticorruption Center, the police officers allegedly intimated the denouncer, telling him to pay money if he wanted to avoid punishment for swindle. The man told the prosecutors and officers of the NAC that the police officers insisted that he offered them €500, he being phoned and threatened with arrest.

The two policemen were remanded in custody for 72 hours and face charges.
