Six employees of the Sixth Division of the National Investigation Inspectorate were suspended from posts for stating their support for the Government led by Maia Sandu. A number of carabiners and employees of the Special Police Brigade “Fulger” were mobilized at the Inspectorate’s head office where the suspended employees have their offices on June 12, IPN reports.

Being at the scene, Andrei Năstase, minister of the interior in the Sandu Government, said the police officers who do not obey the regime are under attack. “I demand access to this institution. As an MP, I should have access to this  institution,” stated Andrei Năstase, who was not allowed to go in.

National Investigation Inspectorate chief Alexandru Pînzari also came to the scene. A short altercation occurred between him and Andrei Năstase and the latter told the first he will be dismissed and will have to bear responsibility for the illegal actions he takes.

Alexandru Pînzari said that the General Police Inspectorate opened an internal inquiry following the statements made by the employees of the National Investigation Inspectorate and an order to spend them was issued immediately. “I came here to perform the required procedures. I familiarized them with the suspension order. They signed the documents and left,” stated the chief.

As to the presence of a large number of carabineer and employees of the Special Police Brigade “Fulger”, Alexandru Pînzari said the Sixth Division works according to a special regime and additional guard was thus ensured so as to prevent leaks of information.

On June 11, the six employees of the National Investigation Inspectorate announced that they throw their support to the Government headed by Maia Sandu. When making statements for the press, the head of the Sixth Division Anatolie Macovei, together with other employees, called on colleagues to follow their example so as to avoid clashes, public disorder and altercations. He called upon those who are forced to obey illegitimate orders to join in.
