A woman working at a bank in Soroca was convicted for forging public documents and for helping people get loans illegally, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The prosecutors established that in 2010-2011, the offender, who worked as the manager of the loans section, falsified salary certificates and work record books based on which 18 persons took out loans worth 778,000 lei from the bank where she worked. When the illegalities for which the woman was later rewarded by her ‘clients’ were identified, the bank’s administration dismissed her.

Recently, the court fined the woman 23,000 lei. The prosecutors consider the sentence is too mild and intend to appeal it to a higher court and to demand a jail term for her.
