A 36-year-old employee of the public medical institution Edineț Health Center was arrested by the police while he was issuing two fake COVID-19 vaccine certificates for a sum of 2,000 lei, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the person, who was in charge of introducing information in the electronic database, ticked “vaccinated” with the first and second doses even if the applicant wasn’t vaccinated.
The fake vaccine certificates were requested by some of the Moldovans for being able to easier travel outside Moldova’s borders. The fictitious data were introduced in the automated information system COVID-19 Vaccination Register.
