The single emergency call system 112 will be implemented in Moldova, IPN reports, quoting a relevant bill that is to be approved in the March 12 meeting of the Government.

International experience shows that the single emergency call system helps increase the call response speed, while the use of specialized information systems on a large scale ensures efficient interaction with the emergency services.

A number of specialized emergency services now work in Moldova independently, based on different organizational principals. The use of the single number 112 will enable to simultaneously involve all the emergency services and to monitor the situation in real time.

One number can be memorized easier. The people can call it in any emergency, regardless of the location. All the calls are free for end-users, both in the fixed-line telephone network and in the mobile phone network.

The interaction between the 112 service and the operative emergency services will be ensured by the coordination committee, which is an interdepartmental body created to coordinate the interaction between all the bodies involved in ensuring the functionality of the 112 service.
