Emergency Service doctors from the city capital deny the information spread by the media regarding the increase of at least two times in the number of injuries due to snow and ice. According to them, over the last days the average number of injuries remained nearly identical to that of the same period last year. “Although we were expecting more serious cases, especially injuries, there were no special problems. 75 cases of injuries have been registered on Thursday, which constitute the average number of cases per day, including in the summer period”, doctor-coordinator of the Emergency Service Anatol Proca told Info-Prim Neo. According to the cited source, due to the temperature increase, in conditions in which the pavements had been covered by ice, the first to suffer were inevitably the pedestrians who injured their arms and legs. Speaking of other cases, registered Thursday, January 10, Anatol Proca said an unidentified man of about 40 years was found at 5pm in a very difficult condition under a truck with products in the market on Albisoara Street. Doctors of the ambulance took him to the hospital. An unidentified young man of about 30 years was found on Bariera Orheiului Street in alcoholic coma. 74 cases of acute viral infections, of which 54 registered with children, 2 brain concussions and 2 heart attacks have been registered.
