An emergency medical assistance unit was opened in Cornesti village of Ungheni district. This is outfitted with an alert and intervention hall, a personnel resting hall, dining room, laundry, a heating system and a water supply and sewerage system, IPN reports.
The emergency medical assistance unit has 12 employees who serve 12 villages of the district. The new building, which is 110 square meters in area, is the 16th unit of the kind modernized nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the Government allocated 273 million lei for modernizing the emergency medical service this year. The money will be used to purchase new ambulances for different medical units.
