Emergency Department of “V. Ignatenco” Hospital inaugurated after renovation

The Emergency Department of the Municipal Children’s Hospital “V. Ignateco” was inaugurated on May 6 after reconstruction, Info-Prim Neo reports.
After cutting the ribbon and touring the hospital, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that this Department is the pride of the city as it is outfitted with modern equipment and provides very good treatment conditions. He stated that the repair and extension of the Emergency Department lasted for about two years, while the investments amounted to 2 million lei. The money was allocated from the municipal budget.
“The doctors should have conditions to save lives. That’s why I thank those who contributed to the implementation of this project,” said the mayor. He voiced hope that similar conditions would be gradually created in all the municipal hospitals.
The hospital’s vice director Elena Sauga said the renovation enables to provide now services of a high quality. “We have appropriate infrastructure and modern medical equipment, including new generation anesthesia machines, ventilator for artificial respiration and a mobile roentgen apparatus,” she said.
Luminita Suveica, head of the Chisinau Health Division, said the roof was repaired, while the facades thermally insulated. The pipes and furniture were replaced and there were installed more boilers. The 20-year-old beds were also substituted.
According to the Emergency Department’s head Sergiu Goian, 30% of the about 100 children who come to the hospital daily are hospitalized.
