As many as 23 special vehicles for fighting fires, dealing with landslides and other emergencies will be purchased for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service of the Ministry of the Interior. Parliament ratified the agreement with UniCredit Bank on the lending of €6.05 million for the purpose, IPN reports.
The loan is repayable in 21 years, at an interest rate of 0.0% and a guaranteed premium of 1.10% a year.
Currently, the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service has 152 firefighting vehicles, but needs another 406 vehicles for its local subdivisions.
The bill was passed in two readings by a majority of votes.
