The Embassy of Hungary in Chisinau mounted an exhibition of Moldovan painter Valentina Bobcova, who is a member of the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova. The exhibit includes 25 works, most of which are portraits, IPN reports.

The opening even involved representatives of the diplomatic corps working in Chisinau, plastic artists, writers and journalists.  “The angels of Valentina Bobcova are mystic characters with human eyes. When you look at them, you can see that they emanate warmth. Why do these angels look more like humans? They sleep, think, smile and thus come near to the visitors by their commonness and expressiveness,” said the Ambassador of Hungary to Moldova Mátyás Szilágyi.

Deputy minister of culture Gheorghe Postica said the Embassy of Hungary during many years has prompted the universal and Hungarian culture. “We are glad that Hungary is coming closer to Moldova. I want to note the very goods relations existing between our countries and the cultural activities carried out by the Embassy. This exhibition is another relevant example,” he stated.

Valentina Bobcova said she was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the organization process was fully assumed by the Embassy. “This shows that the people want to share nice things that they saw with the others. I’m glad that a public that is not indifferent to the events taking place in the country’s artistic life came here,” said the painter.

Valentina Bobcova studied at the St. Petersburg Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Russia. Her works were displayed at national and international exhibitions such as Moldova’s Show Rooms and M-APT. Her paintings form part of private and public collections in Moldova, Spain, Germany, the United States, France, Russia, and Ukraine.
