Ten works made by young painter Anastasia Sidorenco have been exhibited in the Arts Gallery of the Embassy of Hungary in Chisinau, which was recently extended. The artist said her paintings were for the first time brought together at a personal exhibition. Earlier, several of the paintings were displayed at the Embassy of France and the Embassy of Poland, IPN reports.

Anastasia Sidorenco said the passion for painting appeared when she was three, when her mother gave her a pencil, while the love for art developed in time. She graduated from the Chisinau College of Plastic Arts “Alexandru Plamadeala”. Now she is a last-year-student at the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts.

The painter stated that the time dedicated to a work depends on its size and on her inner state. On some of the paintings, she worked for three weeks, while on others for only several hours. Anastasia Sidorenco wants very much to travel and to continue her studies in France.

The exhibited works were made during the last two years. Some of them were already sold. Among the buyers is the Ambassador of Hungary Mátyás Szilágyi.

The diplomat said the Embassy of Hungary aims to discoverer talented artists in Moldova, who could later exhibit their works in Hungary and vice versa - Hungarians to be brought to Chisinau to show their works. “This way we want to strengthen the Moldovan – Hungarian relations. Over the last few years, the cultural aspect of the bilateral relations was slightly neglected. That’s why we are making effort to restore these relations,” stated Mátyás Szilágyi. According to him, culture lays at the basis of the human relations, while the cultural relations can bring two states much closer than the economic agreements.

The exhibit by Anastasia Sidorenco will be open until November 4, from Monday through Friday, between 11am and 12 noon. Entrance is free of charge.
