The culture and history of China will be closer to the children in Moldova through the books donated by the Embassy of China to the Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” of Chisinau. Ambassador Tong Mingtao said both the government of China and the Embassy of China in Moldova consider it is very important that the children find out more about the culture and traditions of China. Therefore, they decided to make a donation of 700 books, with 70 titles, IPN reports.

“The children are the future and treasure of the state. It is very important to teach the children to read as only this way can they realize the meaning and importance of education since they are little. The choice of these books was a thorough one as we wanted them to attract the children and to make them curious to read them. I hope a lot they will like them. It will be for the benefit of the children to know more about China,” said the Chinese diplomat.

He noted he is glad that the Embassy of China in Moldova and the Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” have very good cooperation relations that are strengthened including by book donations. “When I see so many children eager to know more about China, I’m very glad. China and Moldova are friends and I hope the peoples of the two countries will have the same relations of friendship, which can be promoted through the agency of children. As an ambassador, I support the education of children from the earliest age. We must help them and we create the necessary conditions for this,” stated Tong Mingtao.

Director of the Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” Claudia Balaban approved of the friendship relations established with the Embassy of China in Moldova since its opening. She urged the children to study Chinese and to better know the culture and history of the Chinese people, underlining that the People’s Republic of China ranks first in the world by its population and third by its size.
