The Embassy of China in the Republic of Moldova made a donation of 26 laptops with licensed software as part of the campaign “Donate a Computer for Education”. The computers will be distributed to a number of education institutions, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the Ministry of Education.
In the handover event, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the Chinese Government to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. “I appreciate you being near us with this donation in these difficult conditions for everyone. I want to note that you have always been near us, starting with the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the People’s Republic of China due to which young Moldovans received scholarships to study. We also cannot omit the assistance you offered in organizing the largest cultural events in the Republic of Moldova,” stated the minister.
For his part, the Ambassador of China Zhang Yinghong said they are ready to continue the bilateral cooperation between the two states, especially in this period. “The People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Moldova have always had friendly cooperation relations. We know that distance learning is essential in these times. That’s why the Embassy of China supports those who need assistance. By this contribution, we want to ensure the access to online learning for at least a class of students,” noted Zhang Yinghong.
The laptops will be distributed to education institutions by a Government decision, together with other donations made in the period by the partners of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
