Eleven teams of cooks from Europe and Asia have come together at “Moldexpo” for the International Gastronomy Championship that is held the fourth time. During four days, they will prepare traditional dishes of the countries they represent. Their quality will be assessed by an international jury, IPN reports.
In the opening of the event on November 5, Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac said the number of teams taking part in the championship increases annually. The culinary art became an efficient platform for communication through dishes.
The jury’s head, senior chef from Cyprus Panayiotis Hadjisymeou said that several years ago Moldova wasn’t known abroad, but the Ministry of Economy and the Culinary Association made effort to change this thing.
On November 8, chefs from Uzbekistan will present a show. They will prepare 500 portions of traditional dishes for the visitors.
