The MPs will continue to vote by raising the hand at least until this yearned. According to the Parliament’s secretariat, the implementation of electronic voting in the legislature was put off, IPN reports.

The information was asked by Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihail Popșoi, who said that the information systems were recently tested and the electronic voting was to be implemented swiftly.

Secretary general Adrian Albu said electronic voting could not be put into practice owing to the developer. “Regrettably, the developer is not yet ready to hand over the software. The program was extended until the end of this year. It is the developer’s, not the Secretariat’s problem,” he explained.

Electronic voting is a component of the e-Parliament Information System that was to be implemented until mid-2019.

In 2014, one more attempt to implement the electronic voting system was made, but this failed owing to the lack of a number of components needed for the proper functioning of the electronic circulation of documents and the legislature’s new website.
