For Friday, January 24, the electricity demand on the right bank of the Nistru will be fully met. Consumption is estimated to be at the same level as in recent days, according to a press release from by the Government's Crisis Cell, IPN reports.
JSC Energocom reserved at the border with Romania the necessary capacity to supply power to satisfy Moldova’s demand. The use of emergency supply contracts or unintentional flows is not necessary, the authorities said.
On Thursday, the total electricity consumption for the right bank decreased by about 4.4%. 63.02% of the electricity was purchased from Romania.
As for the left bank of the Nistru, the electricity consumption there was 4,131,000 kWh and 90% of the necessary power was produced by the Kuchurgan power plant. In the Transnistrian region, the supply of power is turned off each day for five hours.
