Electric power consumption rose 1.2% over three months

The electric power consumption in Moldova, except the Transnistrian region, in the first quarter of this year increased by 1.2% compared with the same period last year, to 885.95 million kWh, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the National Agency for Energy Regulation.
The three power distribution companies of Moldova - RED Union Fenosa, RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest – reported rises in the energy consumption. The consumption in the areas served by RED Union Fenosa and RED Nord rose by 1.5% to 641.18 million kWh and, respectively, 160.08 million kWh, while in the area served by RED Nord-Vest – by 1.1% to 80.19 million kWh. The small suppliers consumed 4.5 million kWh of power, down by 35.2%.
The power distribution companies and the small suppliers over the first three months of this year bought 1.62,59 billion kWh of power, a decrease of 0.5% compared with the corresponding period last year. RED Union Fenosa purchased 787.87 million kWh of power, RED Nord – 175.92 million kWh, RED Nord-Vest – 94.13 million kWh, while the small suppliers – 4.67 million kWh.
