An apartment situated in a block on Albisoara St in Chisinau caught fire on October 10. A woman, together with her one-years-old child, managed to safely leave the home before smoke and gases started to be produced. It is presumed that the fire was caused by a faulty electric heater, IPN reports.
The General Inspectorate for Emergencies of the Ministry of the Interior said the flames engulfed two first-floor rooms of the apartment. Firefighters extinguished the fire in less than 20 minutes and prevented its spread to other apartments.
The firemen call on the population to obey the fire protection rules when using electric heating devices and to call immediately the 901 Service in emergencies.
