The electoral lists presented by the CEC show that there is a serious shortage of human resources, professionals in relevant areas in the Republic of Moldova, said political commentators and journalists. According to them, it is hard to identify a harmonious combination between integrity and professionalism and it is hard to persuade competent persons to become involved in politics.

“A pro-European party that promotes the fight against corruption should bring specialists to the relevant areas. Until now we witnessed massive migration. A lot of competent persons form part of the diaspora. That’s why there is a shortage of human resources that can be turned into participants in political processes,” expert Dionis Cenușă stated in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.

According to journalist Vasile Botnaru, the fact that the potential candidates for MP are in the focus of the press and the opponents makes many refuse to become involved in politics.

“Many people avoid becoming involved especially after the lists started to be analyzed so thoroughly. After the gesture made by Nata Albot, the people will further hesitate to run,” stated Vasile Botnaru.

Moreover, the experts noted it is harder for a party to identify professionals with an irreproachable reputation.

“The parties are interested in the capacity of candidates from the list to bring votes, in their fame. It is not enough to have upright persons. We must have competent person who can oppose nondemocratic practices. It is not enough to have good intentions for coming to Parliament,” said Vlad Țurcanu.

The law provides the candidates can file applications to be registered as election runners at most 30 days before the election day, which is by June 11. The files are examined during seven days of the submission and the CEC later decides whether to register the candidates as election contenders or not.
