The Electoral Bloc “European People’s Platform of Moldova - Iurie Leanca” has officially entered the election campaign preceding the June 14 local elections. Its slogan in the campaign is “A city where you want to stay”. The bloc intends to lay emphasis not on electoral publicity, but on direct dialogue with the people, IPN reports.

In a news conference held in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Chisinau, the bloc’s leader Iurie Leanca said the people now feel being wronged and betrayed, while the City Hall, instead of being an exception that gives hope, is regretfully a model of corrupt institution where different obscure interests hide behind the mayor general.

“We enter the election campaign with the wish to show the people that not everything is lost. We are confident that we will have a good score in the elections in Chisinau and all over the country. We are sure that after the elections we will be able to ensure a pro-European majority in the Chisinau Council, which is vital for developing the capital city,” stated Iurie Leanca, adding that their election campaign will be based on dialogue with the people given their limited budget and the difficult situation un the country.

The bloc’s candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Oazu Nantoi said he renounced his comfortable status of political analyst because he no longer wants to analyze the lie, corruption, arrogance and cynicism of those who lie in the election campaign and forget about the made promises the next day after elections.

Among the bloc’s candidates for the post of Chisinau councilor are Ion Stefanita, Veaceslav Bulat, Victor Ghironda, Ghenadie Ciobanu, Viorel Chivriga, and Valentina Tapis. The members of the team headed by Iurie Leanca called upon the young people to join their team of volunteers so as to help disseminate their electoral message to all the people during the election campaign.
