The voter turnout at 3:50pm was 39%, the president of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Iurie Ciocan has said. For the elections to be validated, the voter turnout must be minimum 1/3 of the number of voters included in the electoral register, IPN reports.
More than 1 million people voted by the announced hour. The most active were the voters in Soldanesti (45%), Ocnita (44%) and Chisinau (39%). The lowest voter turnout was recorded in Basarabeasca (30%), Balti (35%) and Gagauzia (34%).
The polling places close at 9pm.
