The election campaign is marked by irregularities that put the election runners in unequal conditions. Such an opining was stated in the program “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

Political commentator Alexei Tulbure said the current election campaign is marked by two aspects: some of the parties dominate segments of the mass media, while the ruling parties use administrative resources. “These aspects put the election runners in unequal conditions. For example, outside the time allotted for electoral debates, the TV channels that belong to Plahotniuc promote the image of the Democratic Party. Employees of the institutions controlled by this party, such as “Moldtelecom, are used as so-called ‘donors’ of the party to hide the origin of money,” he stated.

According to Tulbure, the only positive moment was the provision of cars to local police stations, but the fact that this was done in the height of the election campaign shows that administrative resources are being used.

Jurist Pavel Midrigan, a former member of the Central Election Commission, said the current election campaign started to become dishonorable. “The ruling parties make all kind of promises in order to remain in power. Certain aggressiveness is felt, especially against those pleading for the Customs Union. I think that society is more divided now. These people whom we see daily say nothing new. It would be right for those who made mistakes in this period to withdraw from power,” he stated.

Journalist Ion Terguta considers that the election campaign was marked by nervousness this week. “The meeting of Dodon and Putin and the statements of Usatyi added tension to this campaign. We are at the mercy of the Communists. It may happen that namely they will enable the country to continue its European course” he said.

Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valeriu Ostalep also criticized the government for using the administrative resources and condemned the EU, saying it acts like an accomplice. “What for them is a reason for imprisonment, in our country is a success story. The time was not opportune for making this donation of €400 million,” he stated.
