The force traced an illegal scheme used to smuggle considerable quantities of ethyl alcohol over the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service of the Ministry of the Interior said the scheme was allegedly implemented by representatives of the national police, IPN reports.
Following special investigation measures, it was established that the members of the group hid the containers with alcohol inside sacks with common salt and then crossed the border. There was identified the storehouse used by the suspects to load and unload the contraband. There were found 44 plastic containers of 1,000 kg each, 2,200 polyethylene sacks with common salt of 25 kg each and two electric pumps for pumping the alcohol.
A criminal case was started over smuggling. The investigations go on.
