Eight buses “Solaris Urbino 18” of the total lot of 16 units were delivered to Chisinau. These are 18-meter long articulated buses made in Sweden in 2012 that will run on the most crowded routes in the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.
The Euro 5 vehicles are in a good technical state and can run on the streets of the capital city, said mayor Ion Ceban. They have a low floor, ramp for persons in wheelchair and air conditioning system.
The price of a unit of transport plus delivery is €41,900.
Another eight buses will get to Chisinau at the end of next week. The 16 “Solaris Urbino 18” buses will be put on routes in December, following technical testing.
In 2021, the Urban Bus Company was equipped with 158 buses that fully replaced the owned vehicles. 100 are new buses of ISUZU make, while 58 are used buses of such makes as Man, Volvo and VDL.
