Prime Minister Iurie Leanca signed a memorandum on the placement of children from residential institutions in families or community services with the chairman of the Governing Council of the Global Alliance for Children Neil Boothby. Another goal pursued is to maximally reduce the number of children who do not develop according to age and of children who are subject to violence, exploitation and abuse, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.

The Global Alliance for Children will assist the Government of Moldova in staging a number of activities in Chisinau, such as high-level meetings, workshops and fundraising campaigns. It will also provide technical assistance.

“I’m happy that we will deal together with the problems faced by our children, especially those from socially deprived families. I’m looking with optimism at hour cooperation from which the Moldovan children will benefit. I hope we will set good examples in solving the problems confronting us,” Iurie Leanca said in a meeting with representatives of the Global Alliance for Children.

“The investment in children means economic growth. We will support Moldova to make progress in implementing reforms so as to improve the quality of the life of children in difficulty,” stated Neil Boothby.

Founded in November 2013, the Global Alliance for Children is an international alliance of philanthropic organizations, governmental institutions and international backers.
