EE:PBBP offers financing for democratization projects

Nongovernmental organizations, think-tanks, local authorities and initiative groups in Moldova interested in obtaining financial support for implementing projects aiming the democratization of the society are invited to participate in the East East: Partnership Beyond Borders Program (EE:PBBP) of the Soros Foundation - Moldova . The participants must submit project proposals elaborated in cooperation with partners form Central Europe, Eastern Europe and CIS countries in which Soros Foundation (Open Society Institute) operates. The deadline for presenting project proposals is March 25, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release from the Soros Foundation-Moldova, the aim of this initiative is to facilitate the collaboration with new EU member-states and the countries included in the Eastern Partnership, in order to increase the Moldovan civil society's democratization efforts through implementing bilateral or multilateral projects. The priorities of the EE:PBBP Program for 2009 include transfer of the EU accession experience from Central Europe to EU eastern neighbors, including Moldova, by organizing study visits, seminars, conferences and case studies. The submitted project proposals will be examined by the EE:PBBP Program Experts’ Board in Moldova and the participant foundations.
