Education workers mark their professional day

The teachers and educators celebrate the Professional Day of Education Workers on October 5, Info-Prim Neo reports. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, head of the Chisinau Division of Education, Youth and Sport, said the teachers in Chisinau will be involved in different activities in the institutions where they work. There will be also carried out official activities at district heads’ offices and held concerts. According to the Division head, the district heads’ offices will award merit diplomas to the best teachers. The money awards are modest given the precarious financial situation. Many institutions will stage local self-administration, when the best students take the place of teachers. “The teachers attend the classes given by students and look at themselves from aside as the students copy them. I think this is good both for the student and the teacher,” said Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb. There are about 20,000 teachers working in the municipality of Chisinau.
