The heads of 11 baccalaureate (BAC) centers have been penalized by the Ministry of Education for allowing examinees to make changes in their already verified tests so that they could then submit requests for a recheck, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Each principal signed documents whereby they committed themselves to keep the papers secret and respect all procedural requirements”, stated Education Minister Mihai Sleahtitchi.
Now the offending principals have been invited to the Ministry to give explanations. They face penalties ranging from simple warnings to the deprivation of the right to be head of a BAC center, meaning the right to host a session of BAC exams in their schools, for up to 5 years together with severe reprimand.
The principals themselves think examinees should also share part of the blame, given that some of them reached majority.
This year, BAC examinees submitted roughly 21,000 applications for recheck, which represents 16% of the total papers written.
