The Ministry of Education issued a circular to the directors of education institutions concerning measures to prevent suicide among students, IPN reports. The teachers are warned to pay attention to cases when students bid farewell, including on social networking sites, or share out valuable things, such as the mobile phone, clothes or jewels. Among other alarm signs are the isolation of students from friends, more frequent absences from classes, loss of appetite, increased interest in firearms or pills, etc.

If the teachers identify signs of pre-suicide, they must inform the child protection authorities. If a suicide attempt or a suicide Is committed in an education institution, a case management group will be set up. Discussions will be held with the family to determine the content of information that can be disseminated in the community to avoid rumors and speculations. Work will be done with students so that these receive assistance in expressing their feelings and to identify children who are most affected by the situation.

The intimidation and accusation of children for using social networking sites and the Internet and discussions about the situation of other children who became victims of online games should be avoided.
