Education Minister Igor Șarov has issued an order banning political activities and meetings of public officials and candidates with voters in education institutions.
Under the order, which is applicable for the duration of the ongoing state of public health emergency, access inside education institutions shall be allowed only to students, staff and government inspectors, provided that sanitary measures against the novel coronavirus are respected.
The order has been issued after a scandal broke out on Thursday following the inauguration of a restroom in a village school. Pictures from the event showed a Socialist MP, the president of Râșcani district, the village mayor, the principal of the school and two young students crammed at the red-ribboned entrance of the restroom, with only one of them wearing a face mask.
