Decision makers of the municipal education system set the goal of ensuring a constructive dialogue with the mass media and civil society so as to promote high-quality education. The existing problems and possible solutions for ensuring efficient communication were discussed in a workshop that was held as part of the Forum of Teaching Ideas “Chisinau Dialogues”, staged by the Chisinau Division of Education, Youth and Sport, IPN reports.

The workshop involved representatives of the teachers’ community, national scientific research sector, pre-university management and of the mass media.

Attending the event, the Division’s acting head Alexandru Fleas said that the participants in the forum aimed to consider the education process and the relations between school and the mass media in order to ensure experience exchange. “The role of the mass media is very important. The press is a partner in promoting the results achieved in the education system, but we must also address the problems we face and propose solutions to them,” he stated.

Head of the Division’s Pre-University Management Division Rodica Gutu said the goal of the workshop is to build bridges in the communication with journalists, who disseminate information that reaches everyone.

Daniela Vacarciuc, director of the Theoretical Lyceum “Vasile Alecsandri”, said that in some of the cases, representatives of the mass media adopt unilateral approaches. She called on them to take into account the values or the press, the school and the community will all only suffer.

The participants in the forum consider the mass media should promote as many positive examples in the education system as possible. Equidistant approaches are needed, by presenting all the opinions.

The Forum of Teaching Ideas “Chisinau Dialogues” held on January 12 was the eighth of the kind.
