Education institution heads will be punished for violence in schools

Minister of Education Leonid Bujor decided to penalize the heads of the education institutions where there will be cases of use of violence. The decision was made following reports about violent conflicts between students or between students and teachers. “Unfortunately, the last cases reported are beyond any limit,” the minister stated for Info-Prim Neo. On March 16, a student of a Chisinau school was hospitalized after he was beaten brutally by schoolmates. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, agrees with the ministers' decision. She said the school is responsible for any conflict arising on its territory during classes. “We have teachers on duty in schools, who are obliged to monitor the situation inside and outside the school,” Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said. “Besides, the teachers and psychologists working in schools should pay special attention to the sensitive children as well as the aggressive or violent ones.” The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport will punish the heads of the education institutions where cases of use of violence will happen and will take preventive measures. “We will organize meetings with psychologists and will discuss with the parents so as to avoid such conflicts not only in schools, but also outside them,” Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said.
