The heads of preuniversity education institutions, representatives of Finance Divisions and accountants responsible for financing schools from the districts covered by the education reform strategy will be trained to apply the new school financing formula.
Victoria Catanoi, coordinator of the Quality Education in Rural Areas Project, has told Info-Prim Neo that the new method of financing schools requires that the heads of education institutions and other persons involved in the financing process have skills in finance management.
According to Victoria Catanoi, the participants in the seminars are from the districts of Causeni and Rascani, where the reform already started. Three will be also present specialists from the nine districts and two municipalities where the reform will begin in 2012. The seminars will commence in November.
Under the new financing formula, money will be allotted from the budget depending on the number of students. The sum will not be fixed as until now. Slightly over 6,000 lei will be earmarked yearly per student.
A sum of 118,000 lei was allocated for organizing the seminars within the Quality Education in Rural Areas Project that is financed by the World Bank.
