Education Division awards best children's brass bands

The brass bands of the High Schools “Ginta Latina” and “Princess Natalia Dadiani” won the top prize of the 18th Brass Band Music Contest-Festival, which took place in Chisinau's central garden “Stephan the Great” on May 15. Valentina Cujba, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, has told Info-Prim Neo that besides the two grand prizes there were awarded prizes for the first, second and third positions. The laureates received money awards, diplomats and candies. The contest involved seven bands consisting of 20-30 students. Evert brass band gave by a recital of about 20 minutes, which included 10-12 works. “The brass band music is difficult and requires a lot of work. We are glad that we can maintain the brass bands we have in the municipality of Chisinau,” said Valentina Cujba. The other contenders were the brass bands of the pilot complex “Orfeu”, the children's creation center “Floarea-Soarelui”, the High School “Ioan Cuza”, the High School “Nicolae Iorga”, and of the High School “Petru Rares”. The Brass Band Music Contest-Festival is organized by the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport.
