Minister of Education Corina Fusu, in the May 4 meeting of the Cabinet, suggested instituting a commission that will examine the Education Code adopted by the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia in parallel with the one implemented at national level. She proposed that the commission should consist of teachers and public figures from the country, specialists who know Moldova’s legislation, IPN reports.
The Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah said the local authorities acted in accordance with the legislation concerning the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and its rights.
The exchange of replies was interrupted by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who said that this matter will be discussed in a meeting with broad participation, but didn’t’ specify when this will take place.
