The Municipal Education Division has started a probe into an incident involving a teacher who aggressed a pupil in a Chisinau school.
Meanwhile, the teacher has been suspended from teaching the class in question, the Ministry of Education said in a press release.
The Ministry added it will supervise the inquiry to make sure the relevant legislation is respected.
The institution urges local education authorities in Chisinau and other parts of the country to cooperate with schools with a view to combating aggressive behaviors. Similarly, teachers are urged to show respect towards children and be role models.
According to the Ministry, in the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, employees in the educational system reported 3,821 alleged cases of child violence that occurred in the family, at school, in the street or elsewhere in the community.
