Eduard Grama tenders resignation

Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eduard Grama submitted an application to the Cabinet whereby he informs about his intention to leave the post, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the application was received on March 16. The same day, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office filed an application to Prime Minister Pavel Filip, asking that Eduard Grama should be suspended from post in connection with the investigation.

“Given the aforementioned circumstances, Prime Minister Pavel Filip today sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon whereby he suggests dismissing Mister Eduard Grama from the post of minister of agriculture and food industry,” says the press release.

Eduard Grama was arrested on corruption charges on March 15. He is suspected of taking bribe for contributing to the transfer of land owned by the Chisinau College of Winegrowing and Winemaking to a business entity based in Stauceni.
