Romania is only on the 7th place in the ranking of investors from Moldova. In this context, the Economy Week of the Republic of Moldova, which takes place in Bucharest these days, offers excellent promotion opportunities, the Romanian press writes. The newspaper “Romania libera” writes that “as unbelievable it would seam, Romania is not the closest sister of the Republic of Moldova, at least not from the economic relations point of view. If politically everything is alright, economically we are very far from one may think: the 7th investor in Moldova, after Russia, Spain, USA or Netherlands”. According to the same source, the volume of the bilateral trade is not exceeding 400 million USD, the Romanian exports amounting at the end of the last year to 257 million USD, and the imports to 111 million USD. Moreover, about 40% of exports are only mineral or fuel related products, the rest constitutes finished products. “Although, Romanian papers write, the Republic of Moldova has an interesting statute now, when Romania will become a part of EU, this country will become the turning point of the relationships between former soviet countries. More important, Moldova has a favorable statute, benefiting of free trade agreements with all these countries, which means that the goods exported from the neighbor country enter the other countries with zero customs tax. The number of free zones is amounting to six. Moldova also has a very attracting fiscal policy: a profit tax of 15 % and a level of social contribution constituting 25% + 3% (paid by the employees, at an inflation rate set to 10%. In order to contribute to this fact, for the first time, Bucharest is the host of the Economy Week of Moldova in Romania, event organized by “Romexpo” together with the International Exhibition Center “Moldexpo”. “I think that this kind of promotion is way more efficient, George Cojocaru, the president of “Romexpo” declared. I do not state that participating at fairs is not important, but during these events our attention is dispersed. Now we have the occasion to see the whole commercial offer of Moldova, presented in 72 stands. Within the Economy Week of Moldova in Romania, which is organized during June 12-17, the National Exhibition “Moldova Presents” which will include the offer of 100 notorious enterprises from different national economic areas will take place. At the exhibition a Business Forum which includes several seminars, presentations, meetings and debates will also take place. Within the Forum will function the”Contacts Market” service which will stimulate bilateral meetings at different levels – decision-making authorities, scientists, economic agents of both countries. The cultural program will include concerts, meetings of the artists, art varnishing. The last day will be dedicated to Chisinau municipality and will be entitled the Celebration of the Capital.
