Economy Ministry warns business community about fake request

The Ministry of Economy cautions about a fake request for collecting the contact data of managers of large companies. In a communiqué, the institution says that a number of large companies were contacted by individuals, who presented themselves as representatives of the Ministry of the Economy, and asked to furnish the mobile phone numbers of the directors general, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Ministry warns that the request to provide such personal data was not made by it. It informs the economic entities that it never took such a step as the Ministry and the large businesses can communicate through the agency of companies’ secretaries or managers. The institution recommends the companies to be careful because such requests can form part of a fraudulent scheme or a provoking scenario with political connotation.
