Investments of over €27 million and 800 workplaces are the advantages expected from creating a new industrial park in Strarseni town. In this respect, the executive is to approve, at the suggestion of the Economy Ministry, a decision concerning the granting of the title of industrial park to the company CAAN SA, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry, the park in Straseni will be the second private industrial park after the one existing in Drochia. The future resident companies will carry out a wide range of activities: from the production of metal articles, refrigerating and packing equipment to the packing and storing of products. Emphasis will be laid on the use of new technology.

The presented feasibility study shows that the industrial park will be created on a plot of up to 28 hectares, which is owned by the local public administration of Straseni. The investments in creating and rehabilitating the production infrastructure will total about €27 million. Over 50% of this sum will be used to rehabilitate the buildings that will be leased out to the resident companies.

The investment plan will be implemented in two stages. At the first stage, there will be built a frigorific complex and a packing house on half of the area intended for such facilities. There will be stored about 15,000 tonnes of fruit. About 60% of the buildings that will be leased out to the residents will be repaired. At the second stage, the refrigeration capacities will be doubled and the areas of the packing house will be extended. The rest of the buildings will be repaired.
