The problem does not reside in the fact that some of the people buy by 2-3 kilograms of sugar at a lower price and sell it at a higher price in Ukraine, but in the fact that they do not pay taxes on the incomes earned, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said in an interview for Radio Moldova, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The minister said that this happens everywhere, in all the sectors of the national economy. The real price of the goods is not declared and there are used all kinds of stratagems and schemes in order not to pay taxes. The salaries continue to be paid “in envelope”.
“We encounter problems in fiscal administration and in monitoring the formation of prices. But the problem of paying taxes duly and fully can be solved only in concert with society, the entrepreneurial organizations and civil society. We should not be indifferent when the neighbor buys sacks and sells by kilogram without paying taxes,” the minister said.
Valeriu Lazar also said that one of the main objectives of the Government is to reduce poverty and raise the people’s incomes by supporting entrepreneurs, removing the barriers and improving the business climate, attracting foreign and national investments in developing production and increasing exports, and promoting equitable social policies that allow correctly redistributing incomes in society.
