The E-Government Center has launched a new service called e-Licensing. This service enables to submit applications for being issued with licenses by the Licensing Chamber and for renewing them over the Internet, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to e-Government Center director Stela Mocanu, the licenses will be issued over the Internet and the applicants will don’t need to travel to Chisinau, while the accuracy of the information contained in the applications will be checked through the electronic networks of the competent public authorities. The applicants will be informed about the decision to offer the license or not to offer it by email. Under the law, the licenses are issued within five days. In 2012, the license issuing process lasted for two days and a half on average, informed the head of the Licensing Chamber Valentin Guznac. According to him, the licensing in electronic format will take even less time. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that this example of service needs to be extended to other public services that are provided by the state to businesses. “The companies should focus on making the business prosperous, on producing competitive goods and services, not lose time running through different offices of servants,” he stated at the launch of the service. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that the licensing system will be further improved at legislative and institutional levels. The Licensing Chamber will deal with authorization procedures that are now performed by the Ministry of Economy. The procedure for obtaining licenses over the Internet was tested by two economic entities during the service launch. They mentioned the simplicity of the procedure and the fact that it enables the businessmen to save time.
