A crisis must be experienced as a disease as a result of which the body produces antibodies that enable to avoid such a state in the future,” Andrian Candu, director general of the Moldova Business People Association PRO-SPER (AOAM), said in a meeting of the organization’s club themed “Economic crisis and its effects at regional level. Romania’s experience”. Valeriu Nistor, Romanian expert in business restructuring and management, and Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca were the guests of honor, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Association.
The discussions centered on the impact of the economic crisis on the business environment and especially Romania’s experience in this respect. Valeriu Nistor spoke about the restructuring and management experience in Romania and the EU and described the effects of the economic crisis in Romania and the medium-term development prospects of the businesses. He gave a series of examples and made recommendations for developing a prosperous business in times of crisis.
”I consider that the crisis experienced by the European and global society is an emotional and strategic crisis rather than a crisis of liquidity,” said Valeriu Nistor. He believes it is a political crisis, while Europe has the technical solution to it, which includes supporting Italy. The expert stated that the given situation will be overcome only at individual level and, as a result, at collective level. “We can neither order nor influence whole communities. Each of us must pass over this barrier,” he said.
AOAM director general Andrian Candu said this crisis is rather a psychological matter. “This feeling of crisis and the stress prevent the people from taking business decisions. As a phenomenon, the crises are useful as the people have to take decisions to restructure the companies and optimize a series of processes,” he stated.
According to the communiqué, Valeriu Nistor has an impressive career. He had held top management positions in international corporations and implemented extensive strategies for restructuring businesses, which helped them to recover and avoid losses and to make profit. Over the last years, Valeriu Nistor completed a number of restructuring projects in different industries (the media and advertising, energy, food industry), provided consultancy in several transactions involving large and medium-sized companies and counseled Romanian investors on their medium and long-term development plans.
During the visit to Chisinau, which was organized by the Romanian Embassy in Moldova and the Romanian Cultural Institute, businessman Valeriu Nistor had public meetings with students of the State University of Moldova.
The December 2 meeting was attended by about 30 businessmen and senior managers representing different areas of activity, including the financial-banking, trade, telecommunications, hotel, pharmaceutical and other sectors.
