The Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” called upon the Communists that will enter the future Parliament to choose the president of Moldova. At a news conference held at Info-Prim Neo on Monday, the party’s secretary Andrei Dumbraveanu said that the victory of the four Democratic parties – the PLDM, PL, PDM and AMN – is fragile.
“These parties can build a democratic state, but the major problem is the election of the head of state. We hope that the Communist MPs who have progressive views and do not live with the past will take part in the vote,” Dumbraveanu said.
A part of the votes polled by the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance”, which did not pass the election threshold, were redistributed to the PCRM.
The members of the party also said that they were sure the four parties would win more votes than the PCRM.
“We did not err. The votes of our supporters are distributed proportionally, but we bear responsibility for the voters’ trust. We must keep in mind that democracy is not installed by revolution, but is a long-term progressive process,” Andrei Dumbraveanu said.
Anatol Prohnitchi, vice president of the Ecologist Party, said that though the party had a small budget for the current electoral campaign, the votes that it won (6,517 – e.n.) were “for the idea”.
In the July 29 elections, the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” gained 0.41% of the vote. The election threshold was 5%.
