The Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” modified its name, statutes and program, adjusting them to the norms of the European Green Party. Thus, the party will be named the Ecologist Green Party, its statutes will be more democratic, while its program will be vaster, the party’s chairman Anatolie Prohnitski told a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to Anatolie Prohnitski, all the decisions were taken in the party’s fifth Congress. According to the new statutes, the executive bodies will be elected by the party’s Congress, while the other posts will be filled on the recommendations of the National Council. Also, 50% of the responsible posts in the party will be occupied by women and half of the names on the electoral lists of the party will be names of women. Another provision says that the young people will constitute 30% of the members of the executive bodies and will occupy 30% of the responsible positions. “In order to prevent the establishment of a non-democratic system, it was decided that the members will be able to hold at most two executive posts in the party,” said the chairman. He also said that the local organizations will enjoy full autonomy in the daily activities and when proposing candidates for the local elections. The party’s deputy chairman Sergiu Albu said that he chose to be a member of this party because he wants to contribute to improving the ecological situation in Moldova, stressing that the waste and waste management are among the most serious problems confronting the country. The leader of the Green Youth Alexandru Donea said that the Moldovan young people should take part in more ecological activities. In this respect, the party will involve the young people in different ecological education programs and projects. The party’s program will center on strengthening society in order to solve the ecological problems, and promote the national cultural values and the use of alternative sources of energy.
